Looking for your next go-to weeknight meal? Something satisfying and fun for a crowd? Look no further! Our Maple Walnut Ground Chicken Lettuce wraps are the answer. We love the versatility lettuce wraps can bring to a meal – but this one in particular always hits the spot. From prep to finish, this ground chicken lettuce wraps recipe is quick, easy and healthy.
Forget your flour burritos or corn tortillas, lettuce wraps are the perfect vehicle. Romaine to butterhead, even hearty greens like collards or kale can instantly bring color and freshness to your plate.
Our choice of protein for this dish is ground chicken, but you can certainly substitute ground turkey, diced chicken thighs, or breasts. Seasoned with coriander, garlic, and cumin, the chicken takes on a savory flavor profile that is not only delicious but helpful to your digestive process. Coriander and cumin are two common spices in the Ayurvedic kitchen and both inhabit properties that ease and assist your body through digestion. We think the spice combination pairs well with the star of the show – the sauce. The sauce for these ground chicken lettuce wraps combines our Maple Walnut Ghee-nut butter with lemon and dill to bring every element of the dish together. It really is what makes them so addictive and satisfying. The sauce includes 1/3 cup water for the baseline consistency, but if the sauce appears too thick for your liking, add more water 1 TBSP at a time.
Are you asking yourself, “Woah, maple walnut butter for dinner?” The answer is yes, always yes. Because our ghee-nut butters start with ghee, they work incredibly well in savory applications. The ghee creates a rich, velvety texture when paired with organic walnuts rich in omega 3 fatty acids and lucuma powder, a Peruvian fruit, used as a low glycemic sweetener that has a slight maple taste. Lucuma is a lesser-known superfood, rich in fiber, potassium, and iron. Fun fact: it’s actually known to the people of Peru as the “gold” of the Incas. As always, Farmtrue organic ghee is made in small batches from grass-fed U.S.A cows and contains no casein, whey, or lactose, making it suitable for many diets including Ayurvedic, Paleo, Gluten Free, and keto.
