Did you know that the Sanskrit word for love, “Sneha” (स्नेहा), is the same word for fat/oil? Show yourself and the others around you some extra love this Valentine’s Day with our 5 Ingredient Ghee Cookies. It’s a simple cookie recipe your kids will love! Using ghee in place of other fats in these delicious cookies not only adds a delicious dimension to them but helps you not feel any guilt for indulging in this sweet treat.

A Simple Cookie Recipe for Kids

We decided that for this recipe, we needed some extra help testing the process. We invited some of our “future Farmtruer’s” to help us make our 5 Ingredient Ghee Cookies. Getting your kids and the young people in your life involved in the kitchen from the beginning helps them appreciate the importance of good ingredients in their taste and benefits. If children help to make the food they are about to eat, they’re more likely to enjoy it. Thank you to MacKenzie, Austin, Ben, Stella, and Ruby for joining us in the kitchen!

The recipe we tested called for Farmtrue Traditional Organic Grass Fed Ghee Organic Grass-Fed Ghee – Traditional, but we decided to test a batch of cookies with Farmtrue Vanilla Maple Chai Organic Grass Fed Ghee. The batch made with the traditional ghee was delicious as expected – chewy in the center, crisp around the edges, and the perfect balance of light almond flavor from the flour, vanilla essence, and rich nuttiness from the ghee. But then… We tried the batch made with the Vanilla Maple Chai ghee, and WOW. The level of subtle flavors as you work your way through the cookie is just amazing – the warming chai spice and the hint of maple really take the cookies to another level.

We also tried a batch of cookies with all-purpose flour just in case our taste testers wouldn’t care for the almond flour version, but it was unanimous – the batch made with almond flour was the favorite! We also tested a batch with date sugar for a more subtle sweet flavor, but as expected, the kids preferred the version with cane sugar.
